College Hunks Hauling Junk Announces Opening of First Franchise
April 7, 2007Filed Under: New Franchises
College Hunks Hauling Junk, the innovative Washington, DC based junk removal company, recently signed its first franchise deal, a three territory agreement, with Orlando resident Faisal Ansari, son of Orlando businessman Tahir Ansari.
Faisal’s father Tahir Ansari recently closed the landmark haunted attraction Skull Kingdom on International Drive, and he is excited about his son’s new foray into the junk removal franchise business. “Bulk-trash removal has been a service that in the past was primarily provided by handy men, now anyone can call 1-800-JUNK-USA, and get a clean-cut collegiate professional to come remove junk from inside of their property.”
Faisal plans to leverage the company’s creative marketing strategy to service Orlando’s growing demand for bulk trash removal. He also hopes to glean from his father’s vast business experience. “After watching my dad’s successes and failures, I’ve learned that to succeed one must take risks, but the risks must be calculated and economically feasible. College Hunks Hauling Junk offered me a low-cost, streamlined operation, and it fits perfectly with the Orlando demographic,” Faisal states.
The profitable College Hunks Hauling Junk concept started as a group of college students cleaning out garages and basements one summer, and has since transformed a temporary summer gig into a million-dollar, multi-truck corporation, recently announcing the franchise opportunities for sale nationwide.
The company removes anything from commercial and residential properties such as furniture, appliances, yard waste, and remodeling debris, taking them to transfer stations to be recycled and/or disposed of. The company recruits employees on area college campuses to provide customers with clean-cut and friendly teams, “creating a company culture that is not typical for a trash removal business,” says Nick Friedman College Hunks Hauling Junk President. “We’re excited about our partnership with Mr. Ansari, and we look forward to making College Hunks Hauling Junk a household name throughout Central Florida.”
Over 60% of jobs are residential, and many of the Orlando area customers are female housewives desperately battling packrat husbands, which is no coincidence the company name is so popular. Commercial contracts have already been completed for Orlando companies such as CBRE and Prime Properties International.
Keeping in line with the company culture, a portion of the revenues are donated toward a scholarship program, www.CollegeBound.org.
